Cave Dwellers

“Grunt.” “Rape.” “Bargle.” “Rape.” “Sqornk.” “Rape.”

Congressional Republicans have a limited vocabulary at best, but it seems to get smaller all the time.

The scary part is that, imo, they really believe the stuff they vomit into microphones. I’m always suspicious of those who protest too much about an issue. At best, these people are in need of psychiatric help. And at worst, they’re actually engaging in what they spend so much time sounding off about.

I’m not a psychiatrist, but maybe some of you DUers are. Any opinions as to why Repubs can’t avoid the term “rape?”

I'd be curious how they respond. Perhaps they'll show the spine to post here.

My feeling is that a lot of the GOP members of Congress have a checkered past and use their current pulpit to try to work out their feelings. They end up looking like dopes when the reality is darker.

They have to constantly try to make abortion illegal, attack Planned Parenthood and generally make it more difficult for women to have access to care to placate them. Rape comes up because while its hard to justify forcing any woman to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term, it's even more so where rape or incest is involved.

I think that their word vomit is a combination of ignorance and condesension towards women. They may really believe the "facts" they spew. And as with other issues, they don't understand what they haven't dealt with first hand.

why the women of the religious right buy into this. Perhaps it's some form of Stockholm Syndrome.

It makes them feel superior to others. They think it can't happen to them (because they're so "righteous&quot until it does.

People on the right are empathy-challenged. They aren't capable of understanding anything they haven't been through themselves.

Also, there are certainly woman who are believers that think abortion is murder and they feel the need to make their beliefs the law of the land.

Many on the right mistake their own good fortune for making the right choices. They don't understand that we all don't start from the same spot nor do we all have the same choices.

They want to outlaw all abortions but they can't even come close when it comes to women who's pregnancy is the result of a rape. Even the anti-choice crowd can't stomach forcing a woman to bear her rapist's child. Therefor the extremists need to convince the rest of their crowd that if a woman is pregnant then she was not really raped.

This will never end. We can all plan on this crap being repeated by them no matter the cost. They will never accept a woman's right to choose and because of this they can never abandon this line of "reasoning".
