National anthem at Spurs game causes stir on Twitter

Websites like Public Shaming and With Leather collected many such negative remarks, the likes of which included:

“You really had a Mexican sing the national anthem? Go to hell San Antonio,” said a post on Blake Jackson Warner's account, @Uncle_Rico25.

“Is this the American National Anthem or the Mexican Hat Dance? Get this lil kid out of here,” read a post on Steven David's account, @A1R_STEVEN.

Others referred to the San Antonio native as an undocumented Mexican immigrant, though the boy's Facebook page indicates he has never even crossed the U.S.-Mexico border.

He's a little bit flat. But he's got resonance in his voice, and as he matures it will get even better.

I live in SA and he's been on the local news a few times talking about the tweets and messages saying horrible things about him. Mayor Julian Castro introduced him tonight and he did great!
