Seriously: Can Someone Please Explain to Me Why

it's so unthinkable to require Catholics to help finance others' contraception; yet I could go to jail if I refused to help pay for our wars – notwithstanding that my conviction of their immorality is every bit as strong as any Catholic's conviction of the immorality of contraception?

I truly don't get it.

4. The Catholics don't mind! Most of them use it, too!

It's those old maids in dresses and funny hats who are pitching a fit about it, funded by the insurance industry. Insurance plans have long fought anything pertaining to the health of women which is why women who want to get pregnant have to pay triple premiums for family plans before they even go off contraception to try to get pregnant.

It's insane. Everything that happens to a male is fully covered. Only things that happen to both sexes are covered for women.

Insurance is "pay"--just like a paycheck is "pay." It's part of one's "pay and benefits" package, along with that parking space and that two weeks of vacation and those federal holidays that are given off.

That insurance company, when they are doing the math, will make damn sure they aren't reaching into their pockets to pay for anything they don't absolutely have to--it's just a bullshit "cooking the books" game so that the Men In Dresses With Backward Collars can pretend they have some sort of silly victory.

Smoke and mirrors is all it is, at the end of the day.

If you belonged to the Church of I Hate War that had lots of money, power, and political influence, you'd probably be in a better position WRT your views. It would also help if the peoples of the world, all around the world, had a more peaceful nature.

why should anyone of us be forced to bend to the will of the Vatican, which is considered a sovereign state. Why should those people who are not members of that institution have those beliefs thrust upon them.
