(10,794 posts)1. I can't wait to see which Republican candidate jumps on this song to use at campaign rallys -
- once again completely missing the actual meaning of the song.
BTW, E Street fans, didja hear Jake Clemons, Clarence's nephew, is going to be playing with the band now?
Here's a good quick review of the song:
Video Premiere: Bruce Springsteens We Take Care of Our Own
The video begins in black and white with Bruce playing by an empty stage (Yea, like that will ever happen) with the lyrics appearing on the center of the screen.
Music video doubling as a karaoke video: AMAZING!
The video splits between Bruce performing and shots of blue collar citizens working hard for their money. Black and white turns to color, with the closing scene showing The Boss marching down the street with a fleet of workers.
Those of you who took a film class in college (I took two. No big deal) might break this down to signify a transition from hopelessness and loneliness to optimism and a brighter future.
Or maybe its just a music video.

(32,095 posts)6. I can't, either.
Especially since it's already on the "Obama campaign playlist". It will be fun to point that out to them.

(10,794 posts)7. Would one be wrong to think Obama campaign might use it rightfully as inspiration for tax incrs?
That would make more sense.

(17,608 posts)3. Excellent ... anyone know what city/street that was at the end?
Just curious. Looks a lot like it could come from somewhere I regularly walk in Philly except the demographics would be a bit off.

(6,336 posts)5. Most likely Asbury Park, NJ
I will watch the video in slow motion when I get the time to and I'll try and figure out what the streets are.
