Snowden claims China hacked since 2009 + faux outrage Beijing style [china.org.cn]

Last edited Sat Jun 15, 2013, 01:02 AM - Edit history (2)

** Is that cool or what. china.org.cn

Former Central Intelligence Agency analyst Edward Snowden told South China Morning Post, the US National Security Agency (NASA) has perpetrated hacking attacks on computers in Hong Kong and Chinese mainland since 2009.

NSA targets included computers belonging to the Chinese University of Hong Kong as well as public officials, businesses and students. His explosive claims have stunned and angered Hong Kong.

Several political parties in Hong Kong have made statements regarding Snowden's revelations. The Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) publicly demanded that the American government should promptly clarify the situation and the SAR government should take this issue seriously.

The New Century Forum (NCF) went to protest in front of the US Consulate in Hong Kong as it believes that should Snowden's revelations be true, the American government has infringed upon personal privacy. James To Kun-sun, a lawmaker with the SAR legislative council, requested the council to invite Snowden to attend council meetings in order to draw up a detailed statement.

According to Snowden, there had been more than 61,000 NSA hacking operations globally, with hundreds of targets located in Hong Kong and on the mainland. "We hack network backbones – like huge internet routers, basically – that give us access to the communications of hundreds of thousands of computers without having to hack every single one," he said.

The pro-Beijing party in Hong Kong is supportive?

Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB), formerly known as Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong, is the largest pro-Beijing political party in Hong Kong.[1] The party was founded on 10 July 1992. Headed by Tam Yiu Chung, it is the largest party in the Legislative Council.

Flamingdem analysis: This is FAUX OUTRAGE manufactured in Beijing because they went over the line stealing US war plans. Bad China. But looking "good" right now to the world and to their people who see Snowden as a hero. google snowden handsome and see how popular he is with the ladies

.. but who are they?

New Century Forum (Chinese: 新世紀論壇 is a political party in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China. The group comprises professionals, businessmen and academics, and aims to represent the voice of the middle-class. It is currently led by convenor Ma Fung-kwok.

The basic platform of the group is to consolidate the power of the middle-class and to protect the long-term interest of Hong Kong. It aims to focus on studying various public policy issues and suggest proposals in a rational and professional manner, on the basis of the "One country-two systems" principle. On political development, it advocates development of a democratic political system in a step by step process. The party is relatively small and its platforms undeveloped.

The convenor of the group, Ma Fung-kwok, previously had one seat in the Legislative Council of Hong Kong (LegCo) (2001-2004). He was elected into LegCo by the election committee in 2001, replacing the former convenor of the group, Ng Ching-fai, who resigned from LegCo to take up the office of the President of the Hong Kong Baptist University.

Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB)

.. but I agree both have to be on the same page.

So they are manufacturing faux outrage~!

Or are they really outraged. Not likely a Chinese front group would risk that unless it is sanctioned
in Beijing, don't you think..

So the leadership created a deflection and distracted the populace and the world away from that revelation that came out this week, but was drowned by the static.
