If fear and paranoia filled the hallways before, just imagine what it's like now! As closely as the NSA monitors all of *our* activities, take that and square it for the level of surveillance they use on their *own* employees. Sounds like hell. One can only wonder what kind of individuals would be attracted to that kind of working environment...

Exactly. Nothing against Snowden, but a lot of the people they get are probably not optimal.

The work is likely slime filled and disgusting.
The environment is likely unsupportive and suspicious by nature.
No wonder you even pay the "high school dropouts" 100k-200k per year. It takes a lot of money to put up with that much BS.

for young computer heads. See the world. Make big money. Paid vacations and benefits. I'm sure that's the part of Snowden's story that's attractive to some.
For spying on your fellow citizens.
In this economy a lot would do it and never lose a wink of sleep. That's the sad part.
