Republicans can work with lightning speed when they want...

Otherwise, it is only gridlock and blocking legislation on everything else, especially if the President proposes it.

But today they had an abortion vote. Nothing wakes up their base like the issue of abortion. One might think that today was the beginning of the 2014 election?

Just to prove how efficient they can be when they want, they put a woman in charge of limiting women's right. But not just any woman. It was Tennessee's "Aunt Tom", Marsha Blackburn. She has no shame because she has no sense. She was chosen to sell the bill by Trent Franks (R-AZ) that would limit abortions to 20 weeks.

So they marched the bill to the floor and cut it through the opposition like a hot knife thru butter.

Now that they have that out of the way, they can move on to other issues that they hope will keep them in power in the US House of Representatives next year.

(Note: the "Aunt Tom" nickname came from another DUer whose name I cannot find? Perhaps they will respond and take credit for a wonderful nomenclature?)

I am disgusted and can't think of any sane reason that these people get paid with my tax dollars...
