Rand Paul: Young People Now View Obama As A ‘Hypocrite’

Rand Paul: Young People Now View Obama As A ‘Hypocrite’

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said Tuesday that, when it comes to the National Security Agency's surveillance programs, young Americans are with him and not President Barack Obama.

“They see him now as a hypocrite who’s unwilling to defend the privacy of the internet,” Paul said on CNN, according to Politico. “I think issues like this resonate beyond the Republican label and I think they’re going to help us become a bigger national party and Republicans will find out that I will and I do say that we do everything we can to protect our country, consistent with our constitution. That’s what we’re defending."

Paul was referring to a CNN/ORC International poll released Monday. The survey found Obama's approval rating had slipped under water, with much of the dip attributed to his 17-point in support in the last month among Americans under the age of 30.

But it sounds like Randy may have prematurely given away the plan.

So the R's want the youth vote, huh?

They're so transparent, you could read through them.

Your not going to be President plus a poll is poll they change with the wind.I'm not in the least concern about Obama's low poll numbers. When his second term is up and out of the WH for at least a year I guarantee his numbers will go through the roof

Why anyone who is a democratic supporter would stand with Rand, I would not know.

I do NOT stand with Rand Paul IS a clear and present danger to truth, justice and the American way.

That I know where the republicans come from. I know they don't give a damn about me, womens rights, working people or freedom. I know they want the military and it's offshoots to grow. This and more I've always known.
What really has blown me away is how much the democratic party has morphed into the republicans and how democrats are defending what has been going on.

Rand is an ass but the fundemental truth is that independents are backing away from Obama and the party, as are the younger voters. This Syria debacle will further the divide between the old traditional democrats and the newer wave that doesn't believe freedom comes at the tip of a missile.

If democrats don't want this to happen, they need to change. Saying " but the other side is worse" isn't going to draw people in, they will go another route.
Trash the other side without fixing what ails the party will only be showing your ass while reinforcing the notion that the status quo is good.

It was very easy to see what went wrong during 8 years of Bush, it was all in black and white. He was unintelligent, reckless and arrogant to name a few. He said what he was going to do and did it, other people or facts be damned.
With president Obama, it's been more difficult because the rhetoric hasn't matched up with the actions of the administration.

But I would never support Rand Paul.

what we've become?
Are there only two ways? Support a president who wants to arm al-qaeda affiliates or Rand Paul? Have we become so numb, so disaffected that we can't think of anything but A or B. I don't support and won't support Rand. But you know, I don't support a president who has a secret kill list. I'll keep fighting for another way.

But I can't say President Obama has been. Bankers still ruining lives with impunity, no fear of prosecution for their crimes. Another foreign entanglement. He has not been who he said he would be.
