President Obama's Brandenburg Gate Speech: My Take

I understand that some at DU may get upset that I will criticize a speech by President Obama, but I did not like this speech. First, I would have preferred an actual foreign policy speech that laid out a foreign policy vision for President Obama's second term. The speech given today seemed to be more of a speech about America given in Germany. I would have liked it if he started his speech with the ideas at the end of his speech and then explained how we could accomplish those goals.

Second, the speech seemed to be unfocused. President Obama seemed to be all over the place. It seemed as if he had taken lines from previous speeches and put them all together in one speech. I would have liked it if the speech, even if it had more than one idea, had focused on a few ideas and then expanded on those ideas. The speech today seemed to touch on so many topics without expanding on them.

was hot, not only for him but those invited guests. They loved him, he was received warmly and seemed satisfied with his points. This was not the time nor place for the type speech you are describing. He was paying tribute to the host country and just making points on what should/could be done in the future.

The President never ceases to amaze me with his brilliance

Thank God we have this President at our time of need here in America.

President Obama is clearly the Gateway.
as an analogy-

President Obama reminds me in some ways of Irving Berlin, Cole Porter and Elton John.
A simple ditty written and sung in seconds, perhaps a throwaway to them in some ways, is far, far, far better than
most everything and anything seen before.
(whereas say, a Billy Joel gets writers block for a decade and couldn't if he tried).

as someone elses signature states,(not exact, can't recall the exact wording)
Everyday I wake up and Barack Obama Is President is a great day.

that is just my opinion, and I am sticking to it.

(and shame on politicians in the US, like the dreaded RandPaul, member of BushPaulfamilyinc, for denigrating the President
while the President is out of the country.
