No surprise. Paula Deen Says 'Of Course' She Uses the N-Word

http://gawker.com/paula-deen-says-of-course-she-uses-the-n-word-514272160

The Dowager Butterworth, Paula Deen, has allegedly taken an interesting tactic in defending herself against that explosive lawsuit filed by a former employee, accusing her of racism, sexual harassment, and assault: the National Enquirer reports she's just given a deposition in which she admits that "Yes, of course" she throws around racial slurs at work and thinks an elegant idea for a wedding might be to staff it with black men pretending to be slaves. Who doesn't? We're all Americans here, right?

The Enquirer purports to have obtained video of Deen's May 17 legal deposition, in which the Food Network star was questioned for three hours on topics ranging from racist jokes:

“It’s just what they are — they’re jokes…most jokes are about Jewish people, rednecks, black folks…I can’t determine what offends another person.”

What an incredibly stupid thing too say. So she is saying that she has no empathy or sense of other peoples feelings at all?

I refuse to believe that her accent and everything is real, it just seems like too much of a charicature. We'll eventually find out she is from New Jersey and it's all an act.

First of all, her voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard. I leap for the mute button whenever her ugly mug appears on television. I knew there was something else weird about her. I've never bought any of her crap and I'm very glad. She's disgusting.

Oh, and Paula - here's a fucking clue: saying something mean about someone is offensive.

"I can't determine what offends another person.”

That is most certainly a very popular excuse I've read quite often used by many who believe that civility to others is simply too much the burden on their over-burdened person-- or by those who pretend that to be the case, but just want to use be vulgar regardless. I'd bet they could use a nice hug.

Didn't Deen make a campaign appearance with Michelle Obama back in '08? Or was that some other TV cook??

carry her cookware and other garbage. It is outrageous and damned pathetic that any one in this point in time would see those sentiments as acceptable and classify it as joking.
