Here's the basic problem as I see it, and I'll try to keep it short

Somewhere back in each of our childhoods we came to have a sense of self. For each of us along with that new self-awareness there develops a set of expectations of our future. We are fortunate to be creatures who are taught by the generations that preceded us. What we are taught is that our expectations can be filled by the diligent application of our labor. Some take the lesson to heart, some do not.

We work because we must. If for no other reason than to gather or capture for food we must work. But we do more than that, we work today for an improved tomorrow. All that we have are those things earned yesterday and held for tomorrow and all of our expectations center on how we will use these resources somewhere in the future. And we expect that if we have worked enough and saved enough our expectations will be met.

But what happens today?

Our earnings are stolen from us before they ever reach our hands in some cases. Unpaid overtime, wages simply held and not paid out by employers, taxes withheld but never paid into the Tax Authority in an employee's name, caps on accumulated paid sick or vacation time, un-reinbursed business expenditures, and the list goes on and on. And then you are taxed and you watch more of your earnings go wasted on wars and armaments and subsidies to the wealthy. And in the mean-time your Government, funded by a tax system biased against you, fails to protect you from the schemes of monied interests to enrich themselves with no regard for the consequences to you - for their own (and no one else's) profit they will run a pipe-line right through your living room and you know it and you also know you can not stop them. And finally what earnings find their way to you are sapped away by usurious interest rates and an ever decreasing quality in the goods we buy. Oh, and then there is inflation.

Where these your expectations? Is this what you expected a lifetime of labor to bring? You have been robbed at every stage of the game and you know it.

People feel rage. Everything out there is just stacked up waiting for you and you know it. And who's fault it is? You don't know. You know you did your part. You worked your ass off, you raised the kids, you sent them to school you bought the car and house, you paid your way, but you've got nothing; nothing but creditors calling night and day and the prospect of being laid off without notice. What in hell happened? And the anger and hatred just builds and builds and builds. And god himself only knows where the blame is but don't doubt for a minute that there are some people who thrive on the anger and hatred. They direct it to their own purpose.

And that's the basic problem.
