(15,384 posts)I would agree with your conservative views
But then we'd BOTH be WRONG.

(20,219 posts)"teaparties are for little girls with imaginary friends". There is NOTHING WRONG with being a LITTLE GIRL. Or a big girl. Or a woman. There is NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING FEMALE, and I'm sick of the automatic contempt.
how about "throws like a girl", "douchebag", "ladies who lunch" and other sexist comments.....
The rest are great!

(22,143 posts)It's not a slam on little girls. I think you're missing the point.

(20,219 posts)ADULTS acting like little children is disconcerting.
Grown men, and women, acting like nasty little bully boys is disconcerting.
Taking over the playground and beating up the littler kids is JUST AS inappropriate as little girls/imaginary friends...In fact, I would posit that the bully-boy model is MORE dangerous and reprehensible, but nobody's making THAT into a meme to capture our contempt for the despicable stupidity of the right wing.
I MAINTAIN my point.

(20,219 posts)to decisively maintain an arrogant attitude and resolutely refuse to respect another viewpoint.
Particularly a feminist one.
MrSlayer
(22,143 posts)And I apologize for being arrogant.
I suppose if you look at it a certain way you can see it as homophobic as well since the real message is that the tea party dudes are sissys. That's who it's directed at.

(20,219 posts)Thank you Mr. Slayer.
I am pleasantly surprised (since it seems a good sincere apology is so rare these days)! I appreciate that; I really respect people who can stop, reflect and apologize. Takes a good person.
I hadn't been paying attention to the homophobic overtones, but you're right about that.
