governor's desk is the redistricting bill, if the vote of the Senate is confirmed by the Senate chair as valid then miliions more will be spent by the state to sustain a bill that will most likely be ruled unconstitutional.

Republicans made fools of themselves tonight and did it in front of a national audience.

To take up the highway and juvenile justice bills which could have been passed with Democratic support but Dewhurst and the Teahadists were insistent on being total dickheads instead.

And yesterday's gutting of the VRA seems to have made the redistricting bill moot because apparently now the original districts which failed pre-clearence can be implemented.

When Molly Ivins said that Texas was the national laboratory for bad government she was being kind.

But tonight takes the cake.

I'm not even sure if they've adjourned yet. The Senate TV channel cut off live cameras around 12:45 AM

I also posted a thread indicating that said that the bill didn't pass in time.

The authoritarian way this bill passed will likely challenged and hopefully be declared invalid. More time wasted and more money spent on useless items by the Repugs.

There were other voices on the floor saying "No" and "Don't do it."

I never heard the motion made and it was certainly never approved.

Sen. Uresti just said Dewhurst is in the back trying to figure out what to do. Senate is still in session. #txlege
