"So you know for a fact and have proof that we didn't the vote off in time? And! The AP has video of us changing the timestamp? And there were hundreds of witnesses to both of these so we can't hush it? FUCK! Here's the deal, since technically we can forward this to the governor as passed but will then have a huge problem...we'll concede that the vote failed, but you have to concede there was no criminal or civil violation to any aspect of the vote or its recording and time-stamping and quash any investigation or filed complaint."

If you had the choice of killing the bill right there on the spot or being able to pursue a criminal investigation but having to litigate the legality of the passage of the bill...which do you choose? I'd choose 10 times out of 10 to kill the bill.
