I just gotta say this! I am proud to be a Texan today!

I know that my glee will probably be short-lived, but I was just SO damn proud of my fellow Democrats last night.

From Wendy Davis to Leticia Van de Putte to Judith Zaffarini to Juan Chuy Hinojosa to the people in the gallery! There was so much energy, dedication and so much positive force raging against the insanity that IS the Texas Republican party.

My personal gratitude and thanks to all of those who stood with us yesterday!!!

I see it as a glimpse of things to come. Maybe not tomorrow. But I will live to see it.

I don't mean that to sound harsh, either. But the current group is IMHO a bunch of cheats and liars. They would take any attempt to embrace them as a sign of weakness, and while they might feign interest in coming together, they would ultimately backstab anyone who put out an olive branch.

Unfortunately, they've got to be "beaten" at their own game...like they were last night!

Now, if the rest of the "closet Dems" in Tarrant County would just speak up and do the right thing, damn it!

Austin is an amazing city because of its permanent residents...not the idiots who show up only when the legislature is in session.

Austinites have a very real and solid ability to show solidarity when they need to.

You know this isn't going to be over, of course. It's Rick Perry's mission in life to condemn women.

But I will take some satisfaction in knowing that ole Ricky-boy probably did NOT have a good night last night!!!

I actually went to bed around 2:00 believing that the bill had passed because the AP and other news outlets were reporting that it had. When I got up this morning and read the headlines, I was elated! THEN...when I saw the time stamp photo, I felt like it was Christmas morning!!!
