She's at it again.

“Marriage was created by the hand of God,” she said. “No man, not even a Supreme Court, can undo what a holy God has instituted. For thousands of years of recorded human history, no society has defended the legal standard of marriage as anything other than between man and woman. Only since 2000 have we seen a redefinition of this foundational unit of society in various nations.

“Today, the U.S. Supreme Court decided to join the trend, despite the clear will of the people’s representatives through DOMA. What the court has done will undermine the best interest of children and the best interests of the United States.”

Removing myself from any DC centric group, blog what have you. Today I would love to still be in Bachmann's list for the sheer comedy of it.

It is the braying of a (I hope) dying idea

It is a great day for the nation and of course she and her ilk will try to rain on our parade but in the end she and her ilk lost.

Hagar and Sarah. Traditional marriage, and all that. I get dizzy trying to understand their thinking.

I think she should resign, pack her shit, take her heterosexual partner husband, and move the hell somewhere else.

If she's so concerned about marriage, she should do away with divorce, that's the real threat to marriage.

Marriage was the way to pass an estate in a patriarchal society. Those with large estates frequently had multiple wives. "Only since 2000"....2000 bce, maybe.

So many of them just cannot help themselves from witnessing for their version of god. It's basically all they know and they can't stop.

It also explains much about their policies, authoritarian opinions, legislative record, inflexibility, and (especially) ignorance.
