I don't like using obstructionist Republican policies as a sole excuse against any short comings of the Obama administration. But, let's be real, we have a bicameral congress that requires both wings to pass laws. If one is controlled by a bunch of bigoted pieces of shit, then we're all fucked.
Excepting the possibility that we re-brand human beings as historic automobiles, we need to get Republicans out of office. Like, right now. Not just nationally but also in state and local positions. We need to make the political realm uninhabitable for conservatives. If we can't get them on our side, which we really cannot, then we need to make their lives so miserable that they can think of nothing else to do but leave.
When one side is so far removed from reality and so far devolved into corporatism, there is no longer any benefit to a two party system.
