...until Trayvon had become a Senator, or an athlete, or a performer, or many other possibilities.
Yes. George Zimmerman's racist gun-centric wannabe Dirty Harry habits, ensured that we all have heard of Trayvon Martin.
How many George Zimmermans are in crowds like this?

(12,041 posts)Go ahead and try to smear the innocent victim of the murderous gun nut all you want, there is absolutely no evidence beyond a racist murderer's claims to even suggest that Trayvon Martin was a potential murderer. There is plenty of evidence however to show that Zimmerman is a racist thug who murdered an innocent child.

(14,857 posts)I don't believe for a minute George Zimmerman would have left his vehicle and chased after Trayvon Martin if he didn't have a gun handy. I think he'd have stayed put and waited for the police. Trayvon would have run off to get away from the creepy guy following him along the road, as he actually did, and would probably have got home and been safely inside before the police showed up. The cops would have looked around, not seen anything suspicious, and gone away.

(30,439 posts)I wonder if Martin would have killed Zimmerman by throwing iced tea at him, or by opening the container and pouring it down Zimmerman's throat, essentially drowning him.
Iced Tea = Deadly

(20,600 posts)Zimmerman is guilty as sin, that is obvious to all but the most knuckle-dragging right winger at this point.
And he probably will have some troubles when he goes to prison, with some black folk who won't be too happy to see him, I'm guessing.

Are my wife, son and daughter also racists? They are also white.

a young teenage adult who was able to recall Trayvon's last words so that, through her, he could articulate the movements, demeanor and pursuing actions of the man who murdered him. Ms. Jeantel testified against Zimmerman, in spite of being a reluctant, unsophisticated witness who wanted to hide from the world, but who was instead pushed front and center to speak in Trayvon's stead. She may have almost single-handedly provided him the justice he deserves.
The public is so fortunate that Zimmerman, a frustrated, gun-toting racist, who is so ethically challenged that he concocted a scheme, with his wife, to hide his assets and passport in order to decieve the very justice system he desired to be a part of, was never allowed to be a police officer. And he never will now, no matter what the outcome of the trial. In a sad way, Trayvon saved us all from the man who might have become the monster, 'Officer Zimmerman'.
I do worry about all the other George Zimmermans out there with their guns, though, who also desire the power and authority that a police uniform provides.

(39,343 posts)He couldn't be a cop so he tried to be a security guard. That didn't work so he volunteered for parking lot monitor and neighborhood watch ( funny, it isn't called neighborhood shooter). Did he even live in that area or was he just hungry for any chance to feel like a big man.

(22,000 posts)According to the prosecution Zimmerman was a trained fighter. Even with out the gun, Zimmerman would have been able to harm Martin just because of his strength and training. In my opinion the gun added to the threat against Martin in addition to the physical threat by Zimmerman.
