How entitled, arrogant and stupid do you have to be to do what Aaron Hernandez

is charged with doing?

The prosecution in its first degree murder charge against the former NFL star tight end, alleges that the motive for the execution style murder of semi-pro player Odin Lloyd, was that Hernandez was angered by Lloyd speaking to certain people at a nightclub a couple of nights before Lloyd was murdered.

Hernandez was wealthy, physically talented and young. He inked a deal with the New England Patriots in 2012 worth $40 million dollars. He has an infant daughter.

The evidence may be largely circumstantial but it's pretty substantial. It includes the tracking of Hernandez' movements via his cell phone, text messages from the victim moments prior to his death and incriminating video and audio just prior to the crime. Hernandez, it is alleged had two accomplices and they are shown/heard on the aforementioned video and audio evidence.

Did the fact that he was a star on one of the most prominent teams in a wildly popular sport and very wealthy lead him to believe he was untouchable? Or is just unbelievably stupid? Because this has to be one of the worst planned crimes I've ever heard of.

Wealthy, arrogant, above the law, violent and largely remorse free fit the bill as well I suspect.

Football is a violent sport. There is no way around that. You need to be able to accept and even enjoy a certain level of violence in your life to be able to play professionally.

But a lot of pro athletes are decent people - I would venture the vast majority of them are. on edit - But here we have the classic dirt bag thug with money.

i don't pay attention to sports.

but this attitude seems to apply to foreigners and other sports also like that guy who shot his girlfriend in south africa.

and foreign soccer players can be assholes based on some news items i see in the foreign media sometimes.

But I do think the vast majority of pro athletes are decent hard working people.

on edit: but it does look like Hernadez has been a busy tight end in the off seasons...

Reports: Aaron Hernandez investigated for possible connection to 2012 murders

Of course no charges have been filed....

When he was first drafted into the NFL said he had a short temper and would have outbursts. I think its more than just being spoiled with this guy...he's screwed up in the head.

and rumors of gang involvement have always swirled around him. On the other hand, he has had no problems while with the Patriots. I just think he simply could not or would not leave his past behind - it didn't help that he lives only an hours drive from his old neighborhood.

20 somethings brains aren't fully developed yet and he may be suffering from something that we can't yet treat like sociopath or psychopath.

Hopefully, Obama's brains study program will help us decipher the causes and possible treatments of some of these conditions.

I don't like to think that anyone is unreachable.

These guys have the world by the balls and they piss it away.

That said, I predict this will go the way of Ray Lewis. Hernandez will be back at some point, and the victim's family will be left wondering exactly what happened to their son.

The dude is just a psychopath. He was taken in the fourth round instead of the first because of "character issues" stemming from his violent past and just recently shot another friend in the face. He's not entitled or arrogant or anything like that, he's a fucking violent lunatic.
