We (the US) realize that the Syrian rebels will turn on us, right?

Here's what I don't get about this conflict - why in the world would we want to help the side win that will turn on us 5 years down the line and attack us with our own weapons?

The rebels have Al Qaeda heavily amongst their ranks. Many are the same type of crazy extremists that attacked us on 9/11.

Isn't it common sense that the rebels are just playing us, with the ultimate goal of hostility towards us in the future (including likely sponsoring terrorism against the west)? Why would people like John McCain want the rebels to win?

They may be warm to us now, but it's bull crap. They just want our weapons. There is no "good guy" in this fight - whoever wins, the world loses.

It's a business decision. Once you start adjusting your brain to try to think like the MIC and multitudes of subsidiary Military 'Contractors' a lot of things that don't make any sense, suddenly start to do so. And that means, not caring about human beings, which is why it is so hard for the average person to do.

I'm sure it's all been carefully calculated, including the fact that Americans have very short memories. Five years from now when we are told we need more billions of dollars to fight Al Queda in Syria, most Americans won't remember who created them in the first place. Same as Afghanistan and all the other dictators we are currently supporting. Looking at our history, which I had not done until a few years ago, it is really shocking to see who our 'allies' usually are. They are NOT generally democratically elected leaders in countries whose resources our war profiteers want control of.
