I have a question on Social Security and the repeal of DOMA

If a resident of Arkansas gets married in let's say NYC. Can the person then claim his same sex spouse as spouse with Social Security and qualify for survivor benefits?

and that's what the Decision addressed. Residence doesn't affect SocSec benefits.

Any legally performed marriage in the US must be recognized by the Federal Government.
