Feds seek to seize homes of Jesse Jackson Jr. and wife

Federal prosecutors asked a judge today to let the government seize the homes of former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife, Sandi, in Washington and Chicago, plus an IRA he has worth almost $80,000.

Jackson, 48, will be sentenced Wednesday for looting his campaign treasury of $750,000. The government wants him to pay a $750,000 forfeiture plus restitution in the same amount.
Sandi Jackson, 49, a former Chicago alderman, also will be sentenced Wednesday for failing to report to the IRS about $600,000 in the couple’s income.

Their Chicago home is on East 72nd Street. The Washington home is in the DuPont Circle area.

Bill Miller, a spokesman for the U.S. attorney’s office for the District of Columbia, on Friday called the prosecution motion a “standard filing in cases in which a defendant has a significant money judgment and equity in property that could be used to satisfy the money judgment.”

If you want to steal money, start a company first. Then you pay a small portion of the money stole as a fine and if times are tough the government will lend you a few billion more to help out.
