Would you support any candidates or office holders who were committed to the status quo in regards

to the current surveillance state?

I am talking about voting for candidates or office holder seeking reelection for Congress or the Senate or for the Presidency

Yes, there are enough protections in place to reasonably protect our civil liberties

I would not like it but since the Republicans are even worse - I would feel like there was no choice. So yes, at the end of the day I would have to vote for them in spite of my misgivings.

That's a tough won. I will have to decide when the time comes.

And I wonder why there is so much talk about this issue and virtually nothing since Wednesday about the SCOTUS gutting the Voting Rights Act.

Gay marriage is a hollow victory if its only a matter of time until the right wing gerrymanders enough to pass a constitutional DOMA amendment. And with the same RW in power because of a gutted VRA, there is no chance of changing anything regarding domestic spying.

I don't understand why people here do not see the bigger picture that without the VRA we are truly screwed.
