TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian and Bolivian oil ministers agreed to launch joint cooperation in the energy sector, specially in oil and gas exploration projects.
The agreement reached by Rostam Qassemi and Juan Jose Hernando Sosa Soruco on the sidelines of the 2nd summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Moscow on Tuesday includes Iran's assistance to Bolivia's oil and gas exploration projects.
Given its experiences and capabilities in the oil and gas sectors, Iran is now due to take part in in Bolivias gas and oil exploration projects.
Leaders and senior officials of the GECF member states kicked off a high-profile meeting in the Russian capital on Sunday.
The gas cartel is still officially known as the Gas Forum, but major exporters Iran and Russia last year started a move to change the body into an OPEC like organization called the Organization of Gas Exporting Countries (OGEC).
Iran, Russia, Qatar, Venezuela and Algeria are among the GECF's member states which possess 42% of the world's gas reserves.
Iran has been seeking to boost its ties with Latin American countries in recent years to the concern of the United States.
