"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it."

They would respond that this is an individual mandate to each christian, not a commandment to use the force of government to do these things.

Are faced idividually with voting for a bill that assists the least among us. As Christians they would be compelled individually to vote yes, resulting in a landslide victory.
The reality of it is, its just a tool for them to get elected. Which, ironically enough, is one of the worst sins a Christian can accomplish.

I have never ignored users. But I have three on ignore now because of this, and you are also now.

I have to add that I like all of these users. I do not want them on ignore. I simply don't have the bandwidth for unoptimized gifs.

Sorry.

Repugs don't read this website, or pay attention to good points if they do. Pretending to be good Christians is just a means to get votes for them. They don't actually believe in anything Christ said; that would mean they would have to care about something other than their own bank accounts. They don't even care if those of us with brains know they're hypocrites, only the brainless vote for them.
Oh yeah, LOVE THE KITTY!
