Encyrption Works: a paper from Freedom of the Press Foundation

I feel like I need to share this. I have been posting pretty radically today and recently and I myself have never given a thought to my own safety, even though I am cynically of the belief that we are all screwn.
As a Journalism student and practicioner for the past 15 years, most of my work has been local, feature-driven, and not very earth shattering. But it doesn't mean I should be careful, especially when my personal life is quite vocal and 'Occupy-minded'

So today I stumble upon the Freedom of the Press Foundation. (Thanks to an article posted here, citing John Cusack as a member...and I love his personal political stances ...)

Not only did I donate to the Bradley Manning transcription effort and sign up for the newsletter, I read this paper and am really thinking I need to upgrade my electronic lifestyle. Kind of like when you live in a neighborhood and feel like you can keep your door unlocked but then hear abut a robbery down the street and realize you were being naieve...

Check it out:

there's too many things I want to quote, so you can look for yourselves!
