flashback:
The President of Bolivia Evo Morales affirmed that he is almost certain that Venezuelan leader Hugo Chávez died because the Empire (the United States) poisoned him ratifying the plot theory held by Venezuelas acting president Nicolás Maduro.
Maduro -who was sworn in as Venezuela's interim President on Friday-, had announced Caracas would set up a scientific commission to investigate an alleged attack targeting the health of the Socialist leader as the Venezuelan government suspects that Chávezs historic enemies have infected him with cancer.
Our brothers like (Nicolás) Maduro and other authorities in Venezuela will carry out a profound investigation, but I am almost certain that this is a poisoning (case) against Chávez, the South American leader affirmed in La Paz, Bolivia.

He's really not altogether there, if you know what I mean.
At this point I'm really beginning to think he's certifiable or just extremely paranoid. He said he was held hostage and kidnapped while in Austria (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/bolivia-says-european-nations-kidnapped-evo-morales-in-hunt-for-nsa-whistleblower-edward-snowden-8686124.html).
Does this look like the picture of someone who was kidnapped and held hostage:
Yes...there he is...being kidnapped and held hostage by the Austrian President Heinz Fischer at the airport in Vienna.
Edit to add:
Evo Morales: 'Chicken causes baldness and homosexuality'
If you don't want to end up bald or gay, don't eat chicken, says Bolivian President Evo Morales. Speaking at an environmental conference this week in Cochabamba, Bolivia, (officially titled the World People's Conference on Climate Change and the Rights of Mother Earth) Morales told attendees in an inaugural address that chicken producers inject female hormones into the fowl, "and because of that, men who consume them have problems being men."
Thousands at the conference reportedly laughed -- perhaps nervously -- when Morales made the statements. He also said hormone-injected chicken causes young girls' breasts to grow prematurely, according to Noticias 24.
The Associated Press notes that most Western countries ban hormone injections in chicken, but Morales, Bolivia's first indigenous president, also went on to diagnose the practice as the cause of male baldness. "Baldness, which seems normal, is a sickness in Europe," he said. "Almost everyone is bald. And that's because of what they eat."

Same with Snowden. The "it's not about Snowden" meme is bogus because Snowden made it about himself when he fled to China and then leaked his stolen documents. Just to make it further about himself he then ratted out his special goodies for China and then he scurried to Russia and did the same.
Oh, and "he has more".. they're such a danger but he's waiting to release them.. why? So, he can get a sweet deal with his future home? If they're so dangerous why doesn't he do it right fucking now?
This is the route Snowden should have gone to not make it about him..
Snip***
Snowden's Uncivil Disobedience
Edward Snowden, the former intelligence analyst who leaked to the Guardian and Washington Post classified documents on the National Security Agency's anti-terrorism surveillance program is not practicing policy-based civil disobedience, or any form of civil disobedience for that matter despite Sen. Rand Paul's claim to the contrary. His flight to Hong Kong and possible efforts to win asylum from Iceland or China violate a central tenet of the philosophy. Resisters who break a law must accept that they may be arrested and have a duty to submit to punishment.
Moreover, Snowden, to answer a question posed yesterday by Jacob Hayutin on this site, is not a whistle-blower. A whistle-blower is one who reveals to the public wrongdoing, corruption or illegal behavior committed by those in authority, but who also cooperates with investigators as they work to ascertain the veracity of those allegations. Snowden had a chance to properly blow the whistle. He could have reported serious problems associated with the National Security Agency program to Congress under a process established by the Intelligence Community Whistleblower Protection Act. The law would have provided Snowden legal protections and given Congress an opportunity to properly investigate the matter without jeopardizing national security.
***Snip
Snip***
As of now, Snowden is an unpredictable variable carrying a trove of information of great value to countries conducting espionage activities against the United States. If Snowden is truly committed to protecting American democracy, to demonstrating civil disobedience, he should voluntarily return to the United States immediately. Otherwise, the government should exercise whatever legal means it has at its disposal to bring him back to the U.S. to face the consequences of his actions.***Snip

The comment went over nonSpanish speakers' heads, so it wasn't until sundown that it rippled its way through the 35,000-participant gathering. By the next morning, the international press had gotten wind of it, Bolivian newspapers had plastered it on their front pages and Spain's national LGBT federation had issued a statement calling the comment "homophobic."
A little context goes a long way, doesn't it? So let me ask you this... my Daughter will some day soon undergo gender reassignment surgery. Next month she starts testosterone treatments. If testosterone treatments can make a female more like a man by counteracting estrogen (that's the idea behind the treatments, right?) then doesn't it stand to reason that eating chicken pumped full of female hormones counteracts testosterone in a man?
By the way, the literal translation is: "have deviations in their being as men" Context. It's what's for dinner.

(12,232 posts)And early sexual development.
Early studies linked these to high levels of hormones in food, including chicken. Newer studies seem to be looking at phtalates more.
I remember reading an article about this in MS magazine in the 1970's. That article was about children starting puberty at extremely early ages - some as young as 2yrs old. In addition, some of the boys also developed female characteristics such as enlarged breasts. The article postulated that U.S. agriculture was injecting poultry with even larger than usual amounts of hormones and selling them in Puerto Rico and that this could be the cause.
I couldn't find that article on a quick search, but found more info.
http://envirocancer.cornell.edu/Newsletter/articles/v6premature.cfm
Premature Thelarche in Puerto Rico
Since 1979, pediatric endocrinologists in Puerto Rico have detected an alarming increase in the number of patients with premature thelarche (Pérez, 1982; Bongiovanni, 1983). Among the hypotheses proposed to explain the observed premature sexual development in this US Caribbean island territory, the most controversial theory associated thelarche with the subject's diet. Sáenz et al. (1985) suggested that dairy and meat products were contaminated with anabolic estrogenic chemicals, which are used for increasing muscle mass in cattle and poultry. In 1985, studies conducted by the US Department of Agriculture, in conjunction with a scientific commission from the Puerto Rico Department of Health, led to the conclusion that no abnormal levels of the suspected chemicals were present in the approximately 800 samples of meat and dairy products that were analyzed (Montgomery, unpublished data). Other theories are still under consideration, such as the association with ovarian cysts, premature endogenous production of sexual hormones, and environmental contamination by pharmaceutical waste products. These theories do not establish a strong association with the majority of the cases reported (Freni-Titulaer, et al., 1986). Also, a genetic predisposition of Puerto Rican girls for developing premature thelarche is unlikely. Investigation of this ethnic group in the Philadelphia area did not reveal a similar pattern of early sexual development (Freni-Titulaer, et al., 1986). Moreover, other ethnic groups living in Puerto Rico are also affected by the condition (Freni-Titulaer, et al., 1986).
In 1987, the Puerto Rico Department of Health created by law the Premature Thelarche and Early Sexual Development (PTESD) Registry in response to the observed increase in cases (Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, 1989). This is the only world registry created for the study of premature sexual development in a human population. The objectives of this surveillance system are to define the epidemiologic, clinical, and etiologic aspects of the different manifestations of premature sexualdevelopment on the island. Although the registry was established in 1988, retrospective data to 1969 and prospective data to 2001 have been collected. In this time period, approximately 7,600 cases of premature sexual development have been registered, of which 70% are premature thelarche cases. Based on the data accumulated by the registry, the estimated annual average incidence rate of premature thelarche in Puerto Rican girls 6-24 months of age is eight cases per 1,000 live female births from 1984 to 1993 (Bourdony, 1998). This incidence is, to our knowledge, the highest ever reported. Compared to a study conducted in Minnesota (Van Winter, et al., 1990), this estimated incidence of premature thelarche in the Puerto Rican female population is 18.5 times higher. The actual incidence is much higher since only the cases diagnosed by some of the pediatric endocrinologists practicing in the island are being recorded by the Registry. The other 30% of registered cases consist of premature sexual hair, strong (apocrine) odor in both sexes, vaginal bleeding in females and prepubertal enlarged breasts (gynecomastia) in males. No studies have been conducted to define the clinical, epidemiologic, etiologic or prognostic characteristics of these conditions.
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/17/science/17puberty.html?fta=y
At the annual Pediatric Academic Society meeting in May in San Francisco, they presented a report that described how a preschool-age girl, and then her kindergarten-age brother, mysteriously began growing pubic hair. These cases were not isolated; in 2004, pediatric endocrinologists from San Diego reported a similar cluster of five children.
It turns out that there have been clusters of cases in which children have prematurely developed signs of puberty, outbreaks similar to epidemics of influenza or environmental poisonings. In 1979, the medical journal The Lancet described an outbreak of breast enlargement among hundreds of Italian schoolchildren, probably caused by estrogen contamination of beef and poultry. Similar epidemics in Puerto Rico and Haiti were tracked by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the 1980s.
Note that Italy banned hormone use after details like the study above came out. If you search on the terms thelarche, gynecomastia, hormones, precocious development, etc, you'll find numerous articles addressing this and many scientific studies trying to determine the cause, mostly looking at food and environment (including pesticide use, etc.).
Here's a reference to one of the earlier ones from Puerto Rico, for example:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3928858
Given his phrasing and the regions affected, I think it's more likely he was referring to these incidents and these studies.

...Amazingly, however, this wasnt the kookiest conspiracy theory to be churned up this week. That honor goes to a theory mentioned by Alex Jones in a video originally picked up by Gawker and resurrected by The Huffington Post the other day. In it, Jones makes the hilarious claim that the reason there are so many gay people in America is because the U.S. government is deliberately trying to reduce the birthrate with estrogen-mimicking chemicals in our juice boxes. Yes, juice boxes. The government is making more gay people as a birth control method using juice boxes.
Heres exactly what Jones said:
The reason theres so many gay people now is because its a chemical warfare operation! I have the government documents where they said theyre going to encourage homosexuality with chemicals so that people dont have children. [...]
Hey, lets stop drinking out of estrogen-mimicking containers. And again, I even catch myself, Bob, drinking out of these estrogen mimickers because its everywhere. I mean, take this [holds up juice box]. I dont know, but I should check. This is probably lined with the type of plastic that has it. But I still grabbed this off the shelf this morning. Even though it says its organic, thats not enough. In fact, let me guys, give me a knife so I can tear into this. Lets see if its lined with it. In fact, itll probably say it if its lined with it inside the plastic packaging. [...]
After youre done drinking your little juices, well, I mean, youre ready to go out and have a baby. Youre ready to put makeup on. Youre ready to wear a short skirt. Youre ready to go, you know, put together a, you know, garden of roses or something. Youre ready to put lipstick on.

Chicken is a plot against men. Yup. Although to give him his due, Morales did specify hormone-laden chicken, which is banned in some countries. Maybe poultry hunted down in the wild will be safe.
Otherwise, men had better stay away from BPA, soy, cellphones, tap water, vaccines, etc. just to be on the safe side!
Myself being of the other persuasion, may consider eating chicken and making sure I get my daily does of BPA. At least one gender would survive, but damn, I would truly miss men. They are the most entertaining creatures on the planet, right after cats.
