Video shows activist Adam Kokesh loading shotgun in DCs Freedom Plaza
WASHINGTON -
A pro-gun activist celebrated the Fourth of July by loading a shotgun in Freedom Plaza on Pennsylvania Avenue in D.C. in an apparent violation of local weapons laws.
Adam Kokesh had someone record the incident, and the video has been posted on the internet.
D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier confirms that her department and U.S. Park Police are investigating the staged event. Freedom Plaza is U.S. parkland.
In the video, Kokesh, a former Marine, appears to load red shells into a pump-action shotgun while addressing the camera.
Kokesh said, "We will not be silent. We will not obey. We will not allow our government to destroy our humanity."

(56,582 posts)That's one block from the Mall. And it's empty. On July 4th? Not a chance in hell.
Also it wasn't overcast yesterday.
EDIT: Actually I'm pretty sure there was a hot dog festival going on there yesterday.

(3,065 posts)I'm a vet myself. I'm just saying that you can't just turn the warrior mindset off when you get back home. I've had returning vets tell me this. I think a little counseling would be helpful. Civilians that have never served seem to think that because they're back home they can just forget where they've been and what they've had to do.

(3,731 posts)Saw plenty of combat, lost friends, came home and became a Federal Law Enforcement Officer, retired with honors,
had no problem turning off the so called warrior mindset and the vast majority of returning combat vets didn't either, from any war.
Maybe you need to re-think what you wrote?
BTW, while I honor your service to our country, are you a combat vet?

(67,807 posts). . . . . said they would bust him if he tried it. He organized a march where armed asshats were going to sling loaded rifles over their shoulders and march from Arlington VA to the Capitol and back. The cops said "try it punk" . . . . and little Adam WIMPED OUT.
Fuck you, WIMP.
