Paula Deen Blames ‘the Jews’ For Firing
Jun 28, 2013

Celebrity chef Paula Deen, embroiled in controversy this week over allegations of racism, added two cups of gasoline to the fire this morning when she blamed her troubles on Jewish people.

Deen, 66, was a guest of morning host Dave Garver on Atlanta radio station WTMI when she claimed “Jew executives” deliberately abandoned her in the wake of the controversy, which stemmed from a discrimination lawsuit filed by a former employee against her company.

The Georgia-born Southern-cooking maven is doing damage control in the media after admitting that she had used racial epithets in the past and had once planned a slavery-themed wedding. The ensuing backlash has led to Food Network dropping her show and several sponsors cutting ties.

When Garver asked Deen if she expected to return to the Food Network or to another network once the controversy died down, Deen said, “I don’t know, Dave. The whole situation is very stressful and very upsetting to me.

“I hosted one of the Food Network’s most popular shows. We had great ratings, great cookbooks, the fans loved me. But as soon as this N-word thing came up, the greedy Jew executives at the Food Network dropped me faster than a baked potato on a summer day.”

A shocked Garver responded: “I’m sorry, but did you say greedy Jew executives?”

“Yes I did, Dave,” Deen responded. “I made those Jews all this money and they still stabbed me in the back. As soon as it looked like their profits would be affected, they told me I was no longer needed. That’s Jew loyalty for ya'll.”

for the rest, if you can stomach it:

It looks like some high school kids decided to put out their own version of the Onion.

I'd be embarrassed to have my name connected with it. In fact I'm embarrassed for the people who do have their names connected with it.

It really does suck.

Satire is rarely done well. Too many think it's easy, and it shows. That's what makes the Onion so remarkable.

They take a kernel of truth and attempt to write good satire. There are Jewish executives at the Food Network.

The key to recognizing this as a fake news story is the name of the radio announce, Dave Garver. Dave Garver is the name of Clint Eastwood's character in "Play Misty for Me". Also, WTMI is a radio station that had those call letters from 1971 to 2001 with a classical music format. It is now an easy listening station. I had to look that part up.

I just said it was the key to recognizing the story as bullshit. However, I am sure there is some knuckhead out there in radioland that has taken the moniker of Dave Garver for his radio name.

...to use that as their "clue." I'm sure they thought the name clever and cute, but at this point (as compared to when the movie came out and was popular and well known), it's an inside joke; when it comes to the internet, that's a bad idea. With no real clue that this was a joke, many would take this as true and spread it as true. Spread it very far and very fast.

The only Daily Current 'news' stories I have seen have been on this site. They are usually quite nasty in nature and while I am no Paula Deen fan, if someone takes this as the truth, it is unfair to Ms. Deen. They did an outrageous story on Michele Bachmann (I used to live in her district) and while am certainly not a Bachmann fan, the Daily Current story was way out of line, and I don't even recall a single detail of that 'story'. As others have said, The Daily Current does not even come close to the Onion at producing satire.

The 'Soft Hits' station has an announcer by the name of Hugh Jorgen.

That Atlanta station is now WFEZ-FM 'Easy 93.1"
