Bremer has joined W in painting away the guilt. At least he's not doing bathroom self portraits:As the de facto ruler of Iraq, American diplomat Paul Bremer found himself the target of assassination attempts as he tried to get the country back on its feet following the 2003 invasion.
Succeeding Saddam Hussein as leader of a country broken by decades of tyranny and war amid the growing insurgency against U.S. troops made his job as head of the Coalition Provisional Authority arguably the most stressful in the world.
Today, life is very different for Bremer. And like the president who sent U.S. troops into Iraq, Bremer has taken up painting.

Jan. 9, 2006: Ambassador Paul Bremer, the former U.S. Presidential envoy to Iraq, speaks with "Today" show host Matt Lauer about his calls for more troops, and the unexpected strength of the insurgency, from his new book, "My Year in Iraq."
He is modest about his skills and insists his former boss George W. Bush is the better artist -- but he has held several exhibitions and said his work fetches up to $800.

If there was such a thing as karma, this butcher of humanity would be in a jail cell awaiting his lawful execution by the state.

there was an episode starring Michael Dunn as Miguelito Loveless wherein he paints pictures and is able to enter the scene and escape from the Secret Service agents pursuing him. It was GREAT...one of their best ever.
Maybe Bush and Bremer are trying to escape into the Universe which they've painted.

(27,461 posts)6. the thing I hated most about the Iraq War
was how much stress it caused Paul Bremer.
So it's good to see him getting over it.
