Fuck, they've gone beyond neocon - they're now openly fascist:
After the Coup in Cairo
The U.S. shouldn't cut off aid to a new Egyptian government.
...
Egyptians would be lucky if their new ruling generals turn out to be in the mold of Chile's Augusto Pinochet, who took power amid chaos but hired free-market reformers and midwifed a transition to democracy. If General Sisi merely tries to restore the old Mubarak order, he will eventually suffer Mr. Morsi's fate.

Otherwise, they can't afford to import enough food to feed themselves.

(12,869 posts)6. Since much of the industry is Military owned,
I doubt they will have that problem. If necessary they can divert US military aid to feed themselves.

(19,429 posts)7. They must restore order and make the country safe for foreign tourists
Right now, tourism is way down.

(32,342 posts)2. That's pretty egregious.
Who is on their editorial board?

Yeah I think we all need names, addresses, and pictures of anybody that would call on someone to emulate that butcher.
Starry Messenger
(32,342 posts)4. Usually they are a little sneakier about their support
for very right wing policies. This is flagrant. It reminds me of Hearst and his open cheerleading for Hitler. If the editorial board is found funneling money to right wing groups in Egypt to try to bring about a Pinochet, that definitely needs exposure.
