Do Safety Officers still go to schools to train kids to fight off adult strangers?

That would be the question I would ask every defense witness from law enforcement.

And every adult would be asked what they taught their children to do when an adult stranger follows them and approaches them without cause.

I'd pull a 'Miracle on 34th Street' move and call O'Mara and West's kids to the stand and ask them what their parents taught them to do when a strange adult follows them and gets close enough to grab them.

Prosecutor should have asked Zimmerman's mother if that is what he was taught to do, too.

My kids just finished kindergarten and second grade and they've had police officers in each year to discuss stranger danger and gun safety.

I agree with your points. I think a reasonable person in Trayvon's position would have felt threatened when someone following them appeared again behind a dark building.

if she was approached by anyone, especially if they had been following her. Her martial arts instructor taught her the same.
