Charlie Rose DID NOT LET Santorum play the victim card over AspirinBetweenTheKnees-Gate

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum took a page from former House Speaker Newt Gingrich’s playbook on Friday and lashed out at CBS News for asking him about a major supporter who dismissed the need for contraception by saying women could put an aspirin “between their knees.”

“This is someone who is a supporter of mine and I’m not responsible for every comment a supporter of mine makes,” the candidate told CBS host Charlie Rose. “It was a bad joke. It was a stupid joke. It’s not reflective of me or my record on this issue. … This is the same gotcha politics that you get from the media.”

“Nobody said you were responsible,” Rose explained. “They said, how would you characterize it and what had you said to him, not that you were responsible? It’s to understand how you differ from what this person said.”

“This is what you guys do,” Santorum charged. “You don’t do this with President Obama. In fact with President Obama, what you did was you went out and defended him against someone who he sat in a church for — for 20 years — and defended him that, ‘Oh, he can’t possibly believe what he listened to for 20 years.’”

Note the Santorum sweater vest. Santorum can't wiggle out of this one so easily with the "he is just another supporter" meme. The reason the guy was being interviewed in the first place was because he is a major contributor. This is not even close to being equivalent to the Rev. Wright issue. Rev Wright was not contributing millions of dollars to Obama.

"Friess is not only a backer, he's Santorum's BIGGEST backer." - Patricia Murphy, Newsweek & The Daily Beast.

Saying that neither Santorum nor Friess can "put this one back in the bottle."

That whole thing blew over in, what, six fucking months of dog whistle vitriol? The press never bothered Obama about that!

Does Catholic doctrine support outright lying on television? Not when I was in church, though, admittedly, it was a long time ago!

Rose is about the fairest and most reasonable interviewer on TV. No one fights with Charlie Rose.

When the Frothy One has to go on TV and answer questions about his pet billionaire, and all he can do is blame the eeeeeeeevil liberal media, you can see he's already hurtled over a cliff, and he's just suspended in the air like Wile E. Coyote, and just beginning to realize that gravity's going to kick in and it'll be a looooong plunge to the bottom...

Wiley Coyote is good.

I have always used Elmer Fudd sawing off the branch he is standing on. Either way, the GOP is life imitating art.

Cartoon art that is.

He sounds like he's 8 or 9 years old, fighting with a sibling over a toy or over Mommy's affections:

"No faaaiiiir, she treated you better than me--you got a better (fill in the blank) than me. Waaaaaaaa!"

Sickening to observe this behavior in a grown man with presidential ambitions.

as his sugar daddy's aspirin-between-the-knees logic. But then, when Santorum has a broader audience watching Charlie Rose, he hypocritically flips on his "I supported contraceptives" mode.
