"Blessed are the rich, for they shall not pay taxes."

A group of protesters Wednesday lined both sides of S.W. Topeka Boulevard at 24th Street outside the local offices of Americans for Prosperity.

A few protesters on the west side of the street unfurled a banner with one key revision to the libertarian organization's name. "Prosperity" was crossed out and "Austerity" took its place.

With that, the group of about 100 people representing unions, the Democratic Party and other left-leaning organizations launched their attempt to rebrand the free-market ethos that AFP and others have employed with increasing success in Kansas government and connect it to the budget-slashing austerity measures that have caused mass protests in Europe.

Protesters lining the street carried signs that ranged from traditional and broadly applicable ("You have the right to remain silent. But I'd recommend you don't&quot to original and topical ("Blessed are the rich, for they shall not pay taxes&quot .
