Last month, I told you about Karen Finneys conspiracy theory about the Republican Party, the IRS scandal and Obamacare. The MSNBC anchors contention was that the GOP hysteria over the IRS was really about crippling the agencys role in the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Yesterday, House Republicans proved Finney right.
The Posts Paul Kane reports that a senior aide told him that House Majority Leader Eric Cantor has laid out a week of government distrust legislation, including a bill that would cut the IRS budget by about 25 percent. One measure in particular would prohibit the IRS from having a role in implementing the health-care law. This came the same day House Speaker John Boehner announced there would be a 38th attempt to repeal Obamacare. And it came after Reps. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) and Dave Camp (R-Mich.) sent a June 13 letter to Treasury Secretary Jack Lew asking for All documents and communications sent by, received by, or copied to any employee of the Department of the Treasury between January 1, 2009, and the present referring or relating to the establishment of the IRS Affordable Care Act Office and the corresponding personnel and staffing decisions for the Affordable Care Act Office.
This morning, Finney emailed me the Hill story with the subject line Called it! Indeed you did, Finney. Indeed you did.

(2,424 posts)No form of insurance, public or private, can cover the unchecked costs of health care.
There simply is no answer for a $32,000 night of intensive care.

(10,942 posts)Health insurance exchanges and the health care reform law that has been in place in my state has changed the dynamics of health care in the state, for the better. Costs are down, personal health quality metrics for all citizens are up, 99% of children and 95% of adults have insurance. Health care organizations are now focused on preventative health care and that is having the intended impact for patients and their bottom lines.
Naysayers said that health care reform would fail in my state or be too expensive, they pronounced it dead numerous times. That was until our two term democratic governor dug in and made reform work right. If the FEDs are smart when setting up insurance exchanges, they would visit my home state and have long discussions with our Governor and the professionals that run our exchange.
