There was a thread one of them made to get the vote out for 2014. It was ridiculously pitched, and actually hurt the cause of voting for Dems.

I said so and why, and they were baffled as to why I wouldn't want to vote for their candidates after they've told me to get out of the tent.

See, when you work to get someone elected and they do the exact opposite of what they promised, you get pissed.

When you don't do anything but dick around on the internet and whine at people for criticizing your favorite politician, it really isn't a big deal what the politician does or doesn't do.

You guys dropped the ball in 2010. we got out and pounded pavement, but somehow it became our fault that the bad policies scared off the new young voters that got Obama elected in 2008.

Thank you for making my point for me in such a great way...way to heavy lift there.

BHO, & that would be to put him out there governing strongly as an fdr democrat. and just as important, to make the case for such policies with the public to counterbalance the strong propaganda of the right.

the wingers are going to attack anything he does regardless of what it is. have them attack him for something that will garner him support elsewhere, i say.

i feel the US had a chance to turn around the tide of fascism but that moment is fading.

Because the most unthinkable things are appearing here on DU in total seriousness. The number of people under the bus is getting insane, while accusations of racism, supporting Rand Paul and other ugliness is getting almost common.

The people we depended on to get us the truth are now the enemy to the people defending this Admin. The truth itself is the enemy.

Strange times.

about with the massive expansion of the Intelligence Industrial Complex - when the evidence is indisputable that the clandestine services are growing in leaps and bounds and are completely out of control. And knowing that this is coming from people who would be just as excited to condemn it if it were from a Republican administration. Now, if they would be just be honest and say that they realize there is a very big problem here - but they are afraid that talking about it might help the Republicans - I could respect that and even agree that there is a danger of that happening. But instead they go off into cloud cuckoo land defending something that will in all probability lead to the end of democracy if not halted and reined in. Then they go off and make such crazy robotic attacks on everyone who shares a concern that all sane and rational people who have seriously looked at the issue also share. I have given up trying to reason with them. I sometimes just try to mirror them - hoping they might grasp just how batshit crazy they really sound. Throwing in a sarcasm tag would kind of throw away the point I was trying to make.

One of the posters in question went as far as to say on the board that she was here to "make fun" of the people trying to get at the facts until they leave. Others refuse to engage when I post counter arguments and articles. Still others simply ignore the evidence and keep repeating their points.

I haven't used ignore yet to deal with the problem, but at some point we may just have to do that. When they're only talking with themselves, they'll either have to start new accounts to attack with or move on. I'm glad I'm not in Skinner's shoes at the moment- he doesn't consider himself a Lefty, but these people are making the site look horrible. He's got a tough decision to make about how to clean house before this gets any worse.

Saving women's lives and saving us from being forced, once again, into reproductive slavery, is far more important.

You really do have no embarrassment. Twice you've been caught out misrepresenting me.

The one who needs to take a chill pill isn't me--and why should I sleep at this time of day, pray tell?

Not everyone is in your timezone or on your schedule--and how parochial of you to assume that is the case. You need to worry a bit more about your OWN behavior, here, not try to minimize it by characterizing me as "outraged" when all I'm doing is pointing out, for all to see, what you've done.

Further, telling people to "go away" because they are pointing out your conduct isn't on. What you need to do is stop telling falsehoods about people in separate threads--it makes you look like a rather nasty gossip.

You really have outdone yourself--and not in a good way.

Host of Democracy Now! That Amy Goodman?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amy_Goodman

Any chance we're talking about Major League Baseball player Juan Gonzalez? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juan_Gonz%C3%A1lez_(baseball) He was all right as a ball player, but seriously, I've never heard of him being particularly political. Perhaps it's my ignorance.

I'm certain we're not talking about Democracy Now! Juan Gonzalez. Because frankly, claiming that both Amy and Juan are too ignorant to understand some grand RW plan to embarrass the President is about as dumb as it gets. If we have sunk that low, then the lifeboats aren't just in the water, they've left the ship.
