Why is ALEC protecting animal abuse?

By Moyers & Company

Muckrakers and activists have been working to expose the brutality of industrialized meat production since Upton Sinclair’s writing of The Jungle in 1906. But an ALEC model bill known as “The Animal and Ecological Terrorism Act” would make it a crime to film at animal facilities — such as factory farms or slaughterhouses — with the intent to “defame the facility or its owner.” So-called “ag-gag” laws that appear inspired by the ALEC model have been passed in several states. This report, produced by Okapi Productions, LLC and the Schumann Media Center, Inc. looks at the effect of these laws on both our food supply and our freedom of speech.

It's tough to stop organizations with such deep pockets and relentless access to propaganda and our elected representatives.

To increase their members profits and their weight in the political arena.

Those are the agendas of ALEC.

They care about corporations; not people, animals, or the planet.

Money and power are the 'Gods' they worship.

The politicians they have purchased do their bidding.

We don't need to know where our food comes from OR whats in it.
The Peasantry should just shut up and eat what they are given. And if any of them die from what they eat, we'll sue the shit outta them for defamation.

If it weren't so frightening, it'd be funny.
Clearly, we are doomed if Corporations are allowed to continue to run things.....

Profits at all costs, especially at the expense of defenseless animals who can't speak for themselves: that's the American way.

The bottom line, plain and simple. And if people allow the truth about factory farms to enter their heads, some will wake up and go vegan. Factory farming simply cannot survive transparency.
