Pat Robertson: ‘We’re Not Anti-Gay…We Have Many, Many, Many Homosexuals Watching’

83-year old televangelist Pat Robertson today on his “700 Club” TV show claimed “we’re not anti-gay,” despite saying just days ago he wished Facebook had a “vomit” button to click for photos of same-sex couples kissing.

Robertson amusingly also seems to be under the delusion that the LGBT community is a big supporter of his work.

“I am very pleased that we have many, many, many homosexuals watching this program and many of them are looking for love and acceptance and help,” Robertson told his audience, “and I’m glad to report that we have thousands of these people who are saying, ‘yes we want to follow Jesus, we’re not happy with the lifestyle we’re in and we want to have a better way,’ I think it’s wonderful that that’s happening.”

Amusing how Robertson calls LGBT people “these people,” but what’s not amusing is all the other things he has called LGBT people, and all the disasters he has blamed on the LGBT community.

Robertson famously has said lesbians are “evil,” homosexuality is an “obsession,” and “a compulsion,” adding, “I think it is somehow related to demonic possession.” He’s called same-sex marriage an “abomination,” and said God will destroy America because of it.

Why is it super-religious right-wing assholes are so obsessed with homosexuals? Why do they spend so much time thinking about, protesting, and arguing against other people's genitals? Forget the NSA: right now there are bigots out there weirdly desiring to monitor everyone's genitals in order to make sure our genitals match up to their specifications.
