How do you get caught off guard

when you believe you've spotted a "criminal" in the area, you out weigh him, you have more defense training than him, you have a gun and, as a community watch person, you are already primed mentally for a possible encounter?

You're on watch, you're hyper viligent, you're aware, you're armed and then BOOM, you're on your back with the kid on top of you?

How is that?

And how was killing Trayvon Martin necessary force if you were able to get up unassisted afterward and not even have to go to the hospital?

You know what?

I think you're lying and I think this Goode witness is flat out lying too. That's why Goode wouldn't commit to his story fully. He said he "wasn't positive" Trayvon was on top or that Zimmerman was screaming. He wanted to give himself an out in case strong evidence was ever presented to the contrary.

I think you caught up with Trayvon, demanded he stay where he was after telling him police were on the way. When Trayvon started to walk away, you physically grabbed him to detain him and a fight ensued. You threw him to the ground on his back where he landed a few kicks to your head and nose. That pissed you off and before he could upright himself from his position on his back, you put all your weight on him, pulled out your gun, and with his torso at a ninety degree angle on the ground, shot him in the chest.

of the front of Zimmerman's boots today?

There were scratch marks on the front of his boots like you would see if someone was on top of someone and the tips of their boots were against a rough sidewalk.

But I know what you are talking about, the tips got scuffed up against concrete or something while he was moving around on top.

3:32 p.m. ET: De la Rionda shows a picture of Zimmerman's shoes, saying they're wet and have grass on them, which de la Rionda suggests shows Zimmerman wasn't on his back the entire time.

But beyond the grass, there are scratch marks on the boots consistent with scraping against a sidewalk.

Every kid knows where those kind of scratches come from. You're horse playing with a friend and the tips of your boots are at an angle to the sidewalk that produces scratches exactly like in the photo.

the defense hasn't shown reasonable doubt because Zimmerman's story is weak. So the prosecution, in my mind, doesn't have the burden to refute a reasonable doubt that isn't there.

Just to be clear, I'm convinced Zimmerman murdered Trayvon for no reason and is lying.

But I wouldn't look too far into the scratches on the boots as evidence. I'm basing that solely on my own workboots. I have no idea how it happened, but the tops of the toes are crazy scratched up, and I haven't done any low crawling on cement or anything else I can think of to cause scratches there. It's like gremlins come in the night while I'm sleeping and run a cheese grater over them.

it's human nature to speculate, or hold opinions on these matters. when others attempt to stifle people's opinions, one way or the other, my natural assumption is to believe that that person holds an opinion directly converse to those they have decided to admonish. my apologies if that's not the case.

I've seen nothing from the defendant that would lead me to believe a word of his preposterous story.

7:16:55 — Gunshot heard on 911 call.[19]

Following the shooting:

7:17 — Officer T. Smith (first there) arrives in squad car at Retreat View.[20]

7:17:40+ — Officer Smith arrives at crime scene.[21]

7:19:07 — Photo taken of Zimmerman's head injuries by a civilian bystander.[22]

7:19:43 — Officer Smith takes Zimmerman into custody.[21]

very tight timeframes.

guy was (and I believe he is) a big wuss and three mins to solidify a story after you just killed a man.....AND keep your story straight? hard for those who have dealt with that stress.

AND Trayvon is "dead from wrong assumptions" according to the prosecutor? i think the jury acquits. we will see.

And the Z is guilty on all counts. You don't just kill a young kid because he isn't white. That's wrong on every level.

Sorry you and the wifey don't see eye to eye on the drinking.

I suppose it could be worse, of course.
