frosty freeze's full comment even more insulting than just the "aspirin" segment.

we have been incensed about the "aspirin between the knees" comment, with good reason. however, was just watching "democracy now" , with amy interviewing sandra fluke and rep. eleanor holmes norton.

while speaking with rep. norton, amy played a clip of frosty's comment--and I heard the part just preceeding it, which is a complete insult to women:

AMY GOODMAN: Congress Member Eleanor Holmes Norton, in an interview yesterday on MSNBC, the top donor to Rick Santorum’s super PAC, Foster Friess, said contraception doesn’t have to be costly, well, he said, because women can use aspirin for birth control. Asked if he thought Santorum’s position on contraception would hurt his viability in a general election, this is what he said:

FOSTER FRIESS: I get such a chuckle when these things come out. Here we have millions of our fellow Americans unemployed. We have jihadist camps being set up in Central—in Latin America, which Rick has been warning about. And people seem to be so preoccupied with sex. I think it says something about our culture. We maybe need a massive therapy session so we can concentrate on what the real issues are. And this contraceptive thing—my gosh, it’s so—it’s such inexpensive. You know, back in my days, they used Bayer aspirin for contraceptives. The gals put it between their knees, and it wasn’t that costly.

. . . . .

so, women, quit whining--after all, your health, your well-being, are of NO IMPORTANCE compared to the jihadist camps in central america. YOU DON"T COUNT.

but what really pissed me off was his blatant statement that women had no business being concerned about their health and well-being when really IMPORTANT things were going on.

hey, frosty, quite a few of those unemployed are WOMEN.

In the late 1920s Lysol disinfectant began being marketed by maker Lysol, Incorporated and distributor Lehn & Fink, Inc. as a feminine hygiene product. They intimated that vaginal douching with a diluted Lysol solution prevented infections and vaginal odor, and thereby preserved youth and marital bliss.[7] This Lysol solution was also used as a birth control agent, as post-coital douching was a popular method of preventing pregnancy at that time.[8] The use of Lysol was later discouraged by the medical community as it tended to eliminate the bacteria normal to the healthy vagina, thus allowing more robust, health-threatening bacteria to thrive, and may have masked more serious problems that certain odors indicated in the first place.[9] All the same, Joseph De Lee, a prominent American obstetrician who held great sway over American obstetric practice through his writings, encouraged the use of Lysol during labor. "...[J]ust before introducing the hand, the vagina is liberally flushed with 1 per cent lysol solution squeezed from pledgets of cotton, the idea being to reduce the amount of infectious matter unavoidably carried into the puerperal wounds and up into the uterus by the manipulations." haven't heard that any of the douchebag docs of the time - prescribed this poisn for cleaning off male genitalia; or Rush-type rectalia, for that matter.

Since Rick knows so much about these phantom menaces, where are they? And why hasn't Rick contacted Chuck Norris about taking them out?
