a thought brought on by an earlier thread--WHY isn't big pharma telling these anti-choice cretins

to just shut up? after all, if these woman-hating cretins get their way and make contraception illegal, isn't that going to cut into big pharma's profits? you would think they would be a bit p'o'ed about this.

Pregnancy is much more hazardous to women's health than contraception and so much more profitable.

I'm not saying I'm certain that this is their calculation, just that if profits are the criterion, they make more from more pregnancies and a bigger population.

It is just like Abortion. If they were so opposed to it they would FAVOR birth control and make
the dreaded abortion unnecessary. Reality and rationality never inflict themselves
on the reactionary radicals.

That's one thing that would save them tons of money. Small business, too. If people didn't have to try and get health insurance from an employer, an employer that was too small to offer it would be just as desirable as a large employer.

Health insurance is a major tool that big business uses to hold down competition from small businesses. The big guys can negotiate low rates with their large employee pools, while the small guys get stiffed with whatever the insurance companies want to charge them.

Would you force her to carry each and every pregnancy to term and become a mother against her will? What will you do to stop her from finding an abortion, even if you make it illegal? Have the law forceably "detain" her against her will?

As the saying goes, "If you can't trust me with a choice, how can you trust me with a child?"

was from a guy who actually claimed that the Catholic church is not opposed to medication that contains the same drugs as birth control pills and not used for contraception, but to treat other conditions.

Hello?! It's called the birth control pill. Do people believe pharma packages these pills differently and gives them a new name when they are prescribed for endometriosos, etc? LOL

the pharma companies would rather deal with isolated consumers than with insurance companies who carry enough clout to negotiate lower prices.
