It happened again yesterday.

So I am checking out at Walgreen's. The clerk asks me if I want to donate a dollar for heart disease. They used to name the organization involved when they ask more $$$$ and now just name the dis-ease. So I said 'no thanks' and she had a sour look on her face. I don't know what was thinking: either that I am a raging asswipe for not wanting to help the world discover the cure to heart dis-ease or if it was simply that she wanted to garner the most money of all the clerks. So I asked her where the money goes to and she says she doesn't know; she just collects the donations. I looked on the wall where the info was: it was for 'early detection' and something else. I told her that people just need to eat better diets.

When she handed me my purchase, I thanked her. She didn't say a word and looked down at what she was reading.

Not, perhaps, the best way to convince your average customer, though...

why did you feel it was necessary to make a snarky remark about eating better diets? Because heredity has a significant role in heart disease, some people end up with it regardless of their careful, sensible diet; some people eat crap all their lives and never get it. Wasn't it sufficient to just say, "Sorry, I only donate to charities I know something about," and leave it at that?

OOPS! Never mind. It appears the OP is no longer with us.

I was basically making my case for not donating a measly dollar.

I try to keep up with the new DU3 stuff but I'm not always successful. Is there a tombstone notification somewhere?

Look at the account status. If it's 'Posting Privileges Revoked,' you can click on the 'Transparency' tab to see why.
