When he asked her if she understood English I would have loved if is she had replied something along the lines of :

Now Mr. West, you know that we have met ___ (fill in the number) times over a period of _____ (fill in the number of months) and you know perfectly well that I understand English just like I also understand ____________ (fill in first language) and ___________ (fill in second language) which is a greater number of languages then most Americans. Not once in all of our meetings did you ever express an inability to understand what I was say nor did I express an inability to understand what you were saying. (with Rachel smiling sweetly at him the whole time).

Something like that would be articulate, polite and pounded him right into the ground.

the difference is she could only answer the questions put to her by a hostile attorney and put to her in a way that would not allow her to answer in full. Her interviews give her the time to answer in full.

She was strong, straight forward and truthful on the stand and is the same in the interviews.

before and during her testimony had to be tremendous yet she got up on that stand, answered the questions in a straight forward, honest manner, showing great strength of character under a stress level that, again, must have been tremendous.

She had the courage to testify, Zimmerman did not. Says it all, imo.
