Today we heard our revered Rep. Conyers declare that the NSA broke not just some laws, but actually acted unconstitutionally.
So that's why Snowden felt he had to become a whistleblower. He saw laws being broken and the constitution being subverted.
I now look forward to seeing all those here who attacked Snowden, turn their attention to the lawbreakers in the NSA with even half their vehemence they displayed going after the confirmed whistleblower Snowden.
Well, how about it? How about the lawbreakers in the NSA? Are you people gonna let them slide?

Where have you been hiding?
It is odd that the people screaming about Snowden, wanting him arrested, are not the same ones who want to have the NSA regulated and kept from tapping into our lives.
Now that we all know the NSA has been breaking many laws day in and day out, I wonder if those same people will be willing to go after the lawbreakers still in the NSA. Or will they let them be free, and continue attacking Snowden with every ounce of energy they have.

(20,606 posts)I'm simply asking what laws he broke.
BeFree to figure it out and let us know.

(8,361 posts)NSA, I know you are reading this. Meet me at my house (you know where I live) so I can give you a right proper thrashing.

(19,877 posts)to get a Liberal majority on SCOTUS. I have a feeling this SCOTUS will cement the NSA permanently.
I can put you down for letting the lawbreakers in the NSA get a free pass?
It should take a year or two, and the SCOTUS will be faced with a case about NSA, or FISA, or something, and by then the Left, along with the RW, will be looked at as a majority the court won't want to piss off.
Will you be there with us acting pissed off about being tapped day in and day out?

(94,728 posts)I can support reforms in our intelligence/security policies AND recognize that Snowden violated Federal laws.
The bottom line is that as a nation of laws, we don't abide by each person deciding right and wrong on their own.
nb - unless Rep Conyers has been elevated to the Supreme Court, his opinion on the Constitutionality of the NSA policies is just that.

(13,685 posts)You are free to have the opinion (that is all it is, an opinion) about Snowden.
My question is: will people work now to see that those who broke federal laws and subverted the constitution be arrested? And use the same energy as they have going after Snowden?
True, no one has been convicted of anything yet. So even the idea that Snowden broke laws is in the clouds. But given that Conyers and other congress people have stated they think laws have been broken, and the constitution subverted, does it not concern you that you too, have been, or soon will be, tapped?

(2,770 posts)so that is not a matter of 'opinion', nor is the idea that he broke the law 'in the clouds'.

(22,000 posts)Why that's just crazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzy! All Snowden did is go on vacation to Hong Kong with a few laptops that had government documents. I can't see how he broke any laws.

(13,685 posts)Then you are in favor of him not being prosecuted? Or is PS confusing you with such an inane and contradictory post?

(1,881 posts)comes from trying to decipher all the various ways the pro-Snowden defenders try to validate his actions. The latest attempt is trying to put words in Carter's mouth. There is NO confusion as to what Snowden did: He broke several Federal laws and needs to answer to them like a big boy.

(13,685 posts)So what about the others in the NSA who stand accused of breaking the law and the constitution? Are you willing to stand up like a big boy and go after them too?

(1,881 posts)and none are in jail. That took balls and love for country, attributes Snowden seems to be lacking.
Your just gonna let them slide? What? They scare you?
Step out of line the man come and take you away? That your fear?

RobertEarl
(13,685 posts)You get that right? Or you think NSA is above laws? Even above the constitution?
Or are you still just deeply confused?
