Congress is a criminal enterprise.

To treat them as anything else is naive.

Republicanism has become a religion. It doesn't matter what they say or what they do, they still have their true believers. John Boehner said to not judge them by how many bills they passed but by how many they have repealed. They have repealed zero laws and passed about the same number.

They don't even try to hide their intent anymore. If it is not for the benefit of the top 1%, they are against it. They are willing to throw the elderly and the needy out on the street if that benefits the wealthy in any way.

They are in the game, not for public service, but to stuff their own pockets. Almost every single Congressperson is more wealthy now than when they took office. Many of them are millionaires. They use insider trading to enrich themselves.

They ignore or vote against anything that might benefit the people at large. The only time they leave Congress is when they get a better offer from some lobbyist group. They are criminal in every sense of the word.

1. The corporate money flowing to politicians is this country's root problem.

The corruption is going to kill this country if something isn't done about it fairly soon.

They controlled the redistricting process after the 2010 census and will more than like repeat in 2020.

They have won the last 3 rounds. But you know, the are just not into it. Beside that, they have more money at the local level.

What has always annoyed me is how cheaply our "representatives" sell us out.

Or are you way out in left field? One of them Libtards, maybe?

Or is Obama just powerless to speak the truth?

Don't ask me, I don't get it. Makes no sense, except that we're doomed.

endless cycle of soliciting money and running for re-election, and then passing laws that benefit only the monied class. For me, the last straw will be if they cut SS and Medicare. I will no longer vote for any incumbent, regardless of party affiliation. I will probably just throw in the towel completely and become politically agnostic.

the future speaker of the house wants to have a cruise to the Bahamas that only costs $50K each for the lobbyists and wannabebribemerchants.

It's even going to be on a Disney boat.

But these elected representatives see nothing wrong, morally or ethically, with that idea.

We are truly in the hands of organized crime.

11. Pretty darn accurate, especially regarding Republicans. To hell with politics, we need a movement.

There are several modest movements and activist groups focusing primarily on individual issues. The real problem is as described above.

Elections have become nothing more than a fund raising contest. Most corporations have a never ending supply of money, and billionaires have... . So, the only option is a very large movement by the 99%. Not sure what, and not sure what can trigger it or who can lead it, but we need the masses to throw their weight around until we can regain a functioning democracy.

One thing that offers some hope: When Republicans are able to do whatever wish, more and more people see who they really are. The question is, How far will they get? and, will democracy be too far gone when the sleeping masses realize what has happened. In any case, if I were one of the Koch brothers, for example, and others, I would be looking for a place to hide, not trying to complete the purchase of the USA.
