David Koch: 'No stopping union power' if labor wins Walker recall

http://www.politico.com/blogs/burns-haberman/2012/02/david-koch-no-stopping-union-power-if-labor-wins-walker-114964.html

The Palm Beach Post has a good read http://www.palmbeachpost.com/money/david-koch-intends-to-cure-cancer-in-his-2185046.html on David Koch, the billionaire who, along with his brother, have helped "channel" the tea party movement, as the piece puts it, and is involved in funding the pro-Scott Walker side of the recall effort in Wisconsin:

"What Scott Walker is doing with the public unions in Wisconsin is critically important. He's an impressive guy and he's very courageous," Koch says after a benefit dinner of salmon and white wine. "If the unions win the recall, there will be no stopping union power."

Asked about union comments, Koch's spokeswoman is quick to moderate them.

"Koch companies support voluntary associations, and where they so choose, we recognize employees' rights to be represented and bargain collectively," Nicholas says in emailed remarks.

"We think the best workplace relationships are fostered when the employer works directly with its employees. It is a mischaracterization of our principles to say this means we oppose unions or want to dismantle all unions."

It's the word that the greedy conservatives don't like.

Are we civilized? Do we want to be civilized? This one word is what everything is all about.

The entire meaning of society and forming a government is to be civilized. And they're going to fight it in order to get back to the dark ages, because that is where the inequality gives them the ability to control the workers.

Allowing public sector workers to retain collective bargaining isn't a step in the right direction.

It is merely maintaining the status quo.

Koch is full of crap, but we already knew that.

What he and his wealthy cohorts have failed to realize is that the worker's voice aquired power as a direct result of GOP State House actions. A grass roots revolt not inspired by some mystical, magical, liberal media. A revolt inspired from the dumbshit legislation that GOP State Houses are implementing nation wide.

One minute they're beating their chests and trumpeting, boasting at how unions are marginalized to the point of irrelevancy. The next minute they're ginning up paranoia about how unions are the weeds that can't be controlled and choking the life out of the "job creators" or taxpayers.

Which is it?
