Issa (gagme) wants to end door to door delivery by USPS. What next?

The proposal is part of broader legislation by Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, designed to cut costs at the cash-strapped agency by up to $4.5 billion a year. The Postal Service had a $16 billion loss last year.
...
The service's losses are largely due to a decline in mail volume and a congressional requirement that it make advance payments to cover expected health care costs for future retirees. About $11.1 billion of last year's losses were due to payments for future retiree health costs.

Probably because the NSA can't look inside your letters, only photograph the outside.

And I am waiting for a resignation letter to be tendered to John Boehner, President Obama and an formal apology and turn yourself in to the nearest police station for processing.

I can see him limiting the hours that the PO customer service windows are opened.

Wasn't the postal service established by the Constitution as a delivery? I know the Pony Express delivered. So wouldn't they need a Constitional amendment and ratification to do this?

Mail goes to pods, 16 or so houses per pod. A postal carrier can deliver to 160 houses in under an hour, and that includes having to make a separate run to deliver packages that won't fit in the mailboxes to your door.

Less walking for her, esp. in the brutal heat, and no lugging a mailbag around with her.

We can all hire UPS and FedEx to deliver our mail.

The Republican Party wants everything to be privatized. If we have to pay crazy amounts to mail a letter, they don't care. If it hits poor people harder than anyone else, they're fine with that.
