Rev Franklin Ghraham just got SKEWERED on MoJo!

I would guess because Joe wasn't there to stop his panel from asking questions. It was beautiful...Graham did his usual questioning of Obama's faith -- "I have to accept him at his word, but because his father was a Muslim, he is considered a Muslim under Islam." Obama doesn't stop the Muslims from bombing Christians. Finally, John Heilman, Barnacle, all of them, were jumping all over his hypocrisy for accepting anything Santorum says as a matter of faith, yes refuses to believe anything Obama says. There were even a few under-the-breath chuckles and harrumphs as Graham pontificated.

I wish I could offer a transcript. I hope it shows up on YouTube or MSNBC's web site.

Graham says he does not question Santorum's faith because 'his values are so clear.' And, there's 'no question he's a man of faith.' It was encouraging to see Willie Geist, John Heileman and Alex Wagner point out Graham's hypocrisy.

Contrast this with Graham's repeated assertions that he has to take President Obama at his word that he's a Christian. On the other hand he feels in his heart that Santorum's a Christian. As for Romney's Mormon faith, obviously not so much.

Looks like GOP is going to start attacking on religion. Graham also said Romney is a Mormon and they are not Christian. Then he said Obama favors muslims on Foreign Policy and is not helping the Christians minorities when the Muslims are killing them in Egypt and Sudan. Then Barnacle said that Graham has a lot of pages missing in his Bible. They appear to want to attack on Religion and Gas Price but not the economy. ???

The question was whether Franklin Graham would say President Obama is a Christian. Later Franklin Graham says Santorum's a Christian 'because his values are so clear' and 'no question he's a man of faith.'

Graham also added he 'thinks Newt is a Christian' and he thinks President Obama is 'more concerned about Muslims than he is about Christians being murdered in the world.'

Loved John Heilemann's pointing out Graham's 'amazing double standard' regarding his decisions about who's a Christian and who's not.

30. It is not Franklin Graham's right to judge who is Christian and who is not
Tue Feb 21, 2012, 11:42 AM
Feb 2012

The Bible is very clear on this concept. Judge not lest ye be judged. He should abide by the principles outlined in the Bible if he wants to purport that he himself is a Christian, not re-write them.

God gives us all free will. We can become followers; we can become disbelievers -- whatever we feel is the right decision for us as individuals. And under much Protestant philosophy, it is God's job to judge us, not man's. Franklin Graham knows this but chooses not to abide by it. It is pretty disingenuous.

So this raises the question, if God allows man the right of free will, why can't Republicans?

Sam

PS In this Country we do not abide by Islamic law. If that culture dictates that the child of a father who is a Muslim is in fact a Muslim, the individual has the right to embrace or reject that concept as his gift of free will bestows that prerogative upon him.

Very unChristian of him to do so, I would say since Christ himself said, "judge not, lest ye be judged", and "let he who is without sin cast the first stone." etc.

for years and became obscenely wealthly. A few years after I managed to get away from that job, I learned he had given several million dollars to a well-known televangelist shortly after being diagnosed with terminal something-or-other...in an apparent last-minute hope of rising instead of descending. If I weren't an atheist, I'd pity him.

religion by inheritance. Individual salvation and all that. Mr. Graham is attempting to carry on Billy Graham's ministry which was based entirely on individual salvation so it is extremely ironic to say the least that he would be spouting "Obama is a Muslim because his father was a Muslim" nonsense.

You could hear "wow" in the background after each of Graham's blatantly hypocritical, double-standard comments. Obama "says" he's a Christian, so I guess I believe him, but Santorum is definitely a Christian, don't need to just take him at his word. OMG!

34. A Few Random Thoughts
Tue Feb 21, 2012, 11:49 AM
Feb 2012

1) What Billy Graham said about Jews was despicable but it is mitigated, somewhat, by the fact that he apologized and he was in the presence of the evil one.

2) As to glbtq issues, Billy Graham's thoughts, sadly, are boilerplate for main line Christians. I read an interview where he said he wouldn't oppose civil unions and he didn't go out of his way to attack them. He's no Rick Santorum.

3) Even during Jim Crow Billy Graham refused to preach to segregated audiences and he was friends with Dr. King.

4) Franklin Graham is much more right wing and partisan than his father.

5) And most importantly and as a Christian, a lapsed one at times, what he said about Presdent Obama being a Muslim is patently offensive to me. A Christian is anybody who accepts Jesus Christ as his savior, whether he be Jew, Greek, or gentile. I'll add anyhthing else.
