Since these wackos - esp Santorum believe that the purpose of sex is only to make babies - why is it they are not going after Viagra?
The men that use this drug are not using it to make babies - they are using it for pleasure.
And since the majority of men that have ED are in the senior citizen group that means that they are getting it from their medicare doctor. Medicare, as the majority of Americans know (with the exception of the teabaggers) is a Gov't funded healthcare program.
And since it is a Gov't funded healthcare program, that means our tax dollars are being used to fund erections. Erections with the sole purpose of pleasure...
So I ask you - Why isn't Santorum outraged?
Where is the outcry from the religious leaders?
Where is the outcry from the wacked out wing of the GOPers?
The next time someone tells you that birth control should not be funded by taxpayer dollars, remind the sexist jerk who is telling you that, that our taxpayer dollars fund Viagra.

(43,049 posts)Hardly any of them (except Santorum, maybe) actually believes this crap. It's an issue they latched on to and they'll run it into the ground until it stops working.
(And, never forget that way down deep is the idea that the only women who enjoy sex are sluts and whores. Nice girls find it icky and only do it when it's their duty.)

Besides, they don't actually believe the nonsense they're spouting. They're only spouting the rhetoric to get elected and to latch on the the Christian crowd. His wife is pretty liberal actually. Even though they are the creepiest couple ever.

(39,451 posts)NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Medicare beneficiaries will be able to receive drugs treating erectile disfunction, including Viagra, Cialis and Levitra, as part of their coverage next year, so long as their prescriptions are deemed necessary on a case-by-case basis, according to a Medicare spokesman.
"As long as the drug that is being prescribed is medically necessary, the plan will cover this drug," said Medicare spokesman Peter Ashkenaz.
Love this part:
Kindra Strupp, spokeswoman for Eli Lilly & Co (up $0.40 to $54.64, Research)., manufacturer of Cialis, said she was pleased that Medicare recognized "that men deserve access to medication in the class that Cialis belongs."
