The GOP is planning on abolishing everything by order of the Rottencrotch Brothers and their allies. Anything that interferes with wage slavery and skyrocketing profits is too communistic and anti free market.
They are already flooding money into the districts nationwide.
Addendum: It may seem cynical but I run into so many people who say we cannot afford a minimum wage or pensions anymore. Except a lot of them are on pensions and Social Security or Medicare. Or they are white guys of various ages. I cannot believe how distortion, deception and propaganda works. I simply do not know how we change things when the media is now so corrupt.
Addendum: Even a lot of fundy Christian churches are against labor laws deeming them too socialistic or communistic. They support the Libertarian view in many cases. The mental disconnect is so profound to be unbreachable.

(57,936 posts)Listen to it. Watch Democracy Now and the other programs including Thom Hartmann, and persuade your family and friends to listen to a program now and then.
That's how we can win in 2014. Find what your friends and family are interested in, and when you hear a program on that topic (and Pacifica radio is not just news), send a link to your friend or family who might find it interesting. Introduce people to that news service and maybe they will listen to other informative programs too.
There is also BBC news, and independent channels like Cenk, etc.
We need to have solid information and points of view we do not get on TV or in our other news media.
Pacifica is a good source for in-depth interviews. I like it better than public radio. In my opinion Pacifica goes into more depth and is more honest in its approach.
If we can get more Americans to tune in to good programs (and there are lots I did not mention) instead of the network news, we can turn the country around.

The Problem is that the RW is using its power to eliminate this type of broadcasting. They need financial help so anyone out there who can spare a dime should help them. Jazz and Justice is another great programming and they survive on listener contributions. Thanks for posting this. Maybe we can start our own "groundswell?"
